KAMRA RESIDENCE

Kamra Residence is a 1,200 sq.ft. apartment renovation that transforms an existing residence into a contemporary home through thoughtful spatial planning and an honest expression of materials. The design embraces simplicity, functionality, and craftsmanship, creating interiors that are warm, timeless, and filled with natural light. Rather than relying on decorative elements, the project celebrates architectural form and materiality to define the character of each space.
A key design intervention is the introduction of a sculptural curved exposed brick wall that organizes the layout while establishing a seamless transition between public and private spaces. The revised plan incorporates en-suite bathrooms for each bedroom and a modernized kitchen with integrated storage and built-in appliances, significantly improving everyday functionality without compromising openness.
The material palette combines exposed clay brick, white textured plaster, polished marble flooring, and natural wood to create a harmonious balance of texture and warmth. Curved timber ceiling panelling, custom wooden doors, and handcrafted joinery enhance the tactile quality of the interiors, while concealed warm lighting accentuates the architectural details. Large windows allow abundant daylight to illuminate the spaces, enhancing the natural textures and creating a calm, inviting atmosphere.
